You should be careful in doing some changes especially with the hue, saturation, lightness feature and try not to enhance the stone’s appearance so that the photo doesn’t really represent the piece of jewelry.
Remember that when you get your photo clear, clean, bright, and sharp, save the file as jpg format. And just a reminder that your only doing the photo editing to make sure that your picture is as clean, clear, and appealing as possible while accurately representing the appearance of the piece.

It’s for Windows users, it does most of your basic photo editing things (cropping, resizing, color correction, redeye reduction, etc.), and of course, it’s free (requires a valid e-mail address to activate).
Now, I just do very basic photo treatments, and try to keep a very light touch. I’m not a photojournalist, but I know I can’t make nice photos now. But I still don’t want to alter reality, just be sure that it’s accurately reflected on-screen.
